April Charcoal Challenge

Activated Charcoal isn’t just a fad. It’s been around for hundreds of years and has been used for its' ability to absorb large amounts of toxins.

It is used in overdose situations, and was used last year by our Vet when my dog ate a poisonous plant. I have seen it used in soaps and deodorant, toothpaste, etc. It's a popular ingredient used in skincare products as it draws out dirt and toxins trapped in your pores, clears blemishes and lightly exfoliates skin.

This April I am calling YOU to join in a charcoal challenge with me!

Use the Charcoal Cleansing Bar every day for the month of April and keep track of the progress. At the end of the month post your results. Or, track your results all month long on Instagram and tag me! Use the hashtags #charcoalchallenge and #bcbysera and be entered to win a full-size Beautycounter Charcoal Mask. (1 entry per post, draw to happen in early May and the winner will be announced on my Instagram.)

Learn more about my favourite charcoal products below.

Charcoal Cleansing Bar
The Charcoal Cleansing Bar detoxes your skin without drying it out. It is amazing for anyone with enlarged pores or acne. It's rich in antioxidants and leaves skin looking smoother and clearer in just a few weeks.

Balancing Facial Mist
The No. 3 Balancing Facial Mist is alcohol-free and infused with activated charcoal. It is amazing to use as a make-up setting spray, a midday refresher or as a toner. It can also be used on body acne (read "bacne") as the spray makes it easy to mist hard to reach areas. The active ingredients of charcoal and kaolin clay help reduce oil production, redness and draw out imperfections.

Balancing Facial Mask
One of my best selling items, the Balancing Facial Mask draws out impurities and leaves skin looking clearer and more radiant after just one use. It is formulated with kaolin clay, activated charcoal and salicylic acid, to balance oil production, even out your complexion, minimize the appearance of pores and leave skin looking smoother.
